Through a pilot of assisted e-commerce, Reliance Retail seeks to connect first time online customers with its online platform. In the smaller Jio Stores, the staff will be able to place customer orders from Ajio.com via a kiosk inside the store. And customers get the benefit of collecting or returning their orders from there itself. Reliance is set to connect all its online platforms eventually for its first time online shoppers via their Jio outlets.
Reliance Digital and Jio Stores together has around 8,157 under Reliance Retail, currently. The bulk, out of this, i.e., more than 7,800 will be the smaller size Jio Stores that are across the smallest markets and are also the last point of connect for Reliance online business.
Ajio, apparently, has about six visits each month per app user, which is a high frequency customer visits. Alongwith its own brand Ajio, there are more than 1.5 lakh products listed on the site as well as more than 800 national and international labels. Besides, there’s the e-commerce platform for Mothercare.in that the company started during the April-June quarter.
Also, Reliance Retail has more than 100 million registered customers now, during the first quarter; whereas, in the same period last year, it had 65 million. At more than 6,700 cities and towns, the company operates 10,644 stores and during the last quarter, has added 265 stores as well.
