Designer Kerry Cusack stuck with her signature cuts, metallic fabrics and out there prints, but instead of taking the eponymous Bondi as her inspiration, this year’s theme was more Japanese inspired.
Cusack collaborated with iconic brand Hello Kitty to produce custom-made metallic one and two-piece swimsuits in black, blue, gold and orange at the fashion week.

Imogen Anthony is the creative director for new Hello Kitty brand collaboration. For the collaboration Cusack also partnered with Imogen Anthony, a Sydney based model who starred in the catwalk and who is also partner of radio DJ Kyle Sandilands.
Anthony, who has an affinity with the brand (after walking the first Bondi Bather runway last year), is now taking a hands on approach this season – designing, collaborating and starring in the collection shown at this year’s MBFWA.
Wearing a v-neck, high-cut black metallic one piece, Anthony stormed the runway, pronged angel wings attached to her back, glitter encrusted beads stuck to her face and a Hello Kitty print adorning her midriff.

A signature colour of the cartoon character’s look, fairy floss pink was weaved into the catwalk with models parading pink streaked hair and brow jewels and French pink manicures.
Full length burnt orange and maroon tie-dye sarongs were also worn, adding sunset tones to the otherwise beachy yellows and blues.
Metallic silver ugg boots and slides as well as silver pony tail ties were also worn by models, completing the Hello Kitty ‘space angel’ inspired look. Bondi Bather stuck to beachy colours including sky blue and golden yellow pieces
