Is it just the creative men who contribute to the Lingerie industry? Or rather the whole of the community boosting a part of women’s perception of what is sexy and what not? Admit it. It is men who’ve largely determined the industry; Lingerie fashion is a designer’s view of what men would find steaming, while comfort of a women takes back seat, of course with her consent, reflecting this particular hegemony in our society.
The above judgement would seem a bit stern. It was, until the recent shift in our basics proved existence of the contrast as well. With the world moving towards absurdist curve and breaking of age old definition of beauty; ‘Sexy’ denotes an internal emotion of women and their ideas. So, where does this lead women’s Lingerie to. Well, in a humorous research conducted by FAME FASHION, a few Indian men were presented styles of women’s Lingerie to comment on. And the results were tremendously hilarious and off the hook. The video of it has been put up by Fame, and is a must watch for all women and men.
According to the drill, Men no nothing of Lingerie fashion! And they barely seam to care. The participants of the research were common men, middle aged and absolutely down stuck by the attention and effort that ladies pay to their Lingerie. To them, the boy shorts are tight kid’s underwear that, whatsoever, wouldn’t fit a lady. The nude silicon strapless cups is women’s way of fooling men, and they are quite successful at it. Where as the garter belt panty is just a fascinating Jigsaw puzzle to put on. A guys stated that he feels piety for women to have keep up with such stuff.
Perhaps the Lingerie world is overhyped, but women come with different views and so do men. A recent survey by the , The Huffington Post, teamed up with AskMen.com, took a run through 2700 guys, trying to taper men’s preferences in women’s Lingerie. The survey showed that most men settle for the popular Push up Bra and thongs on their ladies, but an ill set of Lingerie doesn’t put them off. The Bralette and Balconette bra follow up closely with Cheeky briefs and bikini panties being great at their jobs. However, 10% or more men do not have a preference. A pollster in the survey went ahead to state , “I’m happy when she is happy. Women are such wonderful creatures. It’s all about letting her know she is worshipped.”
Having that said out loud for us, the current lingerie trend undoubtedly need a rest. The above mentioned results are flawless and authentic from the horses mouth. They reflect an inane want but should set a trend that moves towards other aspects of Lingerie better focused on soothing women’s true needs.
