Born in the UK, founder Rachel pines trained in costume at Wimbledon school of art, where she fell in love with all forms of textile printing. After graduation she worked in film, on productions such as harry potter and star wars. When time came to concentrate on work again after having children she knew a new focus was needed. Since she could not find a brand that produced an ethical yet beautiful range of sleepwear, she decided to create Moonbird.
Now based on the northern beaches in Sydney, Australia, she is loving using her creative skills in a way that cares for people, the planet and helps women to feel good about themselves.
Manufactured in India and Australia, the entire range is made using GOTS certified organic cotton except its jersey strappy and loose tops which contain a hidden support layer made from 95% cotton and 5% lycra and is something the team is actively working on. The range is available to both men and women as sets and separates.
Moonbird is committed to producing our loungewear in an ethical and transparent way. They use friendly dyes hand printed or hand-woven fabric by artisans in India and our producers are fair trade certified.
