Designers seem to have been influenced by the Victoria’s Secret catwalk show, which took place this month. As supermodels including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner strut their stuff down the runway, a clear theme emerged.
Tartan lingerie was a huge part of the collection, with red garments making the biggest impact. This trend has trickled down to the luxury label’s stores, where checked slippers and pyjamas are also being stocked.
A tartan bra from Victoria’s Secret costs around £20, while checked pyjamas retail for £45. Pep &Co’s range is a lot more affordable, with prices started from just £2. Shoppers can snap up a tartan slip for £5, as well as a matching bra and knickers set for £6. The nightwear is also significantly cheaper, with PJs hitting shelves at £7.
Maria Epaminondas, head of buying at PEP&CO, revealed that the collection has been a huge success. The fashion expert estimates that Poundland is selling 400 checkered items every day. She added: “It’s no Secret that we like to stay ahead of the fashion game.
“We gave our designers a little PEP talk about taking the high land in style and checking all the fashion boxes. “Red tartan screams Christmas and we can’t be out of kilter at this time of year!” Looking for more bargains this November?
