Us sportswear brand, Under Armour recently collaborated with Alvanon, an apparel and business development consulting firm and developed a 3D version of fit forms for sizes ranging from infant 0 to men’s 5XL.
This technology helps the brand to produce a 3D depiction of real bodies across menswear, womenswear and kidswear providing customisation to the consumers. This 3D digitisation reduces the overall time and cost of design and development.
According to Jami Dunbar, Vice President of Apparel and Accessories Development and Supply Chain Operations for Under Armour, working on large volume allowed them to consider a lot of different body types with the 3D depiction.
“Under Armour has been working with 3D for some time now in its core size but this new technology will help them to develop a full size range which promises excellent and perfect fit to its consumers,” says Tracy Rickert, Senior Consultant, Alvanon.
