Style Fashion Week switched gears after the first set of designers this evening to introduce swimwear and lingerie to the runway. The evening’s featured designers included the fabulous Kinsman Swimwear, Versa, and the daringly scandalous Latrodectus Lingerie.
Kinsman Swimwear opened up this segment with a fun and vibrant collection of swimwear perfect for any tropical getaway or poolside lounge. The bikinis seen in this collection varied in colors with highlighter yellow, orange, purple, and black. Styling elevated the overall look of each swimsuit by pairing almost every model with beautifully printed, colorful headscarves and gold charm necklaces. Interspersed between looks were bikini briefs with high waist sheer fabric panels, side-banded logo briefs, and tri-band string briefs. The final touch was the excellent make-up treatment that featured a full gold masking effect that wrapped the eyes of all the beautiful models. An innovative approach to swimwear hit the runway next with the ‘magical’ collection from Versa Swimwear. Versa created what they called the “Magic Swimsuit” which was designed with carefully placed dual sided turn-over sequin fabrics. This fabric allows the wearer to literally change the color of their swimsuit by the merest stroke of their hand. Also included in this collection were sexy cut one-pieced swimsuits with tribal prints, choker-neck bikini tops, and swimsuits featuring extended ribbon tie accents.
The final designer for this evening’s show was Kaila Methven featuring the latest haute couture lingerie collection from her Latrodectus line. Jaws dropped as the first model hit the stage wearing one of Latrodectus’ breathtaking designs. Methven created an impressive collection that really pushes the envelope of what lingerie should look like. With this collection, inspiration seemed to be dark Victorian in nature with an added touch of S&M culture through the use of gag-toys for styling. The pieces themselves included feathered ostrich shape bottoms paired with intricately designed pasties, silken jackets, lace corsets, and feathered whipping toys. There was also a beautifully constructed wedding gown inspired lingerie ensemble complete with white veil, thigh-high tights, and floral bouquet. There’s no doubt that Methven’s attention to detail is what will surely catapult her high-end lingerie line to the top and secure her spot as a prime designer.
