From this Mahalaya onwards, the senior citizens of Ward No. 74 & 82 living without any support from their family members, won’t have to worry about their foods as Rupa & Company Ltd, one of India’s leading knitwear brand, commits to provide free ration to the distressed senior citizens, twice a month.
Marking the beginning of Devi Paksha, Rupa & Company as part of the programme ‘Annapurna Dry Ration’ will provide fortnightly dry ration to 250 Senior Citizens of Ward Nos. 74 & 82.
Under this programme, the Senior Citizens identified by Lions Club and Alipur Sarbojonin, will now get free dry ration consisting of rice, daal, oil, salt, sugar, tea, potatoes along with 3-4 kinds of spices, twice a month.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. P.R. Food is at the top in the basic need list and we understand our responsibility in providing it to the needy. Through this Annapurna Dry Ration initiative, we hope to bring some positive changes to the lives of the senior citizens. The activity has instilled a commitment within us to conduct such programmes more often”
Coordinated by Lions Club, District 322B1, Rupa & Company will provide this for 6 months.
