Who started Supersox?
HS : “We believe that Supersox is a sock brand that gives you super powers – well, almost, since they fit perfectly, look stupendous and bring out the best in you! Hence the name Supersox.
SuperSox was founded by Harsh and Vivek Saraf in 2012.While the company has been in business since 18 years now, the brand is relatively new. Harsh Saraf – Head, Business Development of Superknit Industries and Supersox believes that a great quality product speaks for itself but it can do even better with exemplary customer service.
Harsh Saraf dedicated time for learning the ropes of his family business at Super Knit Industries while pursuing management studies from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. He realised the potential of the Indian market and spearheaded the launch of Supersox a vibrant socks brand for men, women and children of all ages in India. Harsh wants the Indian consumers to indulge in excellent export quality fabrics and international styles of socks at competitive prices through his brand – Supersox. His vision is to popularise Supersox and take on a larger chunk of the market share of socks in India.”
Where do you get your ideas from? (colors, fabrics, prints) How many designs have the brand come up with since the launch?
HS: “The design teams at Supersox create several unique designs to cater to the diverse demand for socks as per current trends, seasons and the consumer lifecycle. Our ideas come from everything that is around us – people, nature, trending styles, music, movies and so on.”
Since Supersox was founded over 5000 designs and 20,000 color variants of socks have been launched. All are products are manufactured at our factory in Daman, India.”
Could you describe your product packaging?
HS : “Supersox products are labelled and are neatly stacked in see-through packaging. When you order socks from our website www.supersox.in you’ll receive a brightly coloured packet with a little thank you note with it too!”
What strategy do you follow for customer satisfaction & expansion?
HS: “SuperSox was established in 2012 and has since been present in the Indian market through a strong, nationwide network of 300 distributors on board. SuperSox products are available across 10,000 plus retail stores across India.
For expansion, we follow a multi-faceted approach – introducing new products, increasing sales in existing markets, and expanding to new geographies.
Strong tie-ups with distributors and retailers, both online and offline have been the backbone of our expansion strategy.
We regularly talk to our customers and incorporate the feedback to enhance customer satisfaction. We are also in constant touch with our distributor and retailer network to understand consumer behaviour and inputs on our products.”
How has been the response from Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets? What challenges do you face there?
HS: “Supersox has received a good response from both Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets. The challenge in tier 2 was to establish a good distribution network.”
