Karl Mayer to launch new warp knitting machines at an in-house event

German textile machinery giant, Karl Mayer is going to host an in-house show at its Changzhou facility during the upcoming Shanghai Tex exhibition. In the show, which is scheduled for 25th to 28th November 2019, the company will be showcasing three warp knitting machines.

According to the company, they will be presenting a double-bar raschel machine whose optimised cost-benefit ratio will appeal to shoe fabric producers, a direct warping machine for efficiently processing elastane for the mid-range segment and a raschel machine, which will put the producers of patterned lingerie fabrics one step ahead of their competitors.

For raschel fabrics, Karl Mayer will be introducing RJ 5/1, E 32, 130” which is a new commodity product line for fabricating new stylish lingerie items. According to Jan Hippich, Portfolio Manager at Karl Mayer, there is a high demand in south Chinese market for lingerie items made from smooth, raschel knitted fabrics with lace-like decorative bands.

On this machine, fabrics are produced from simple elastane and due to lapping, they are resistant to the slippage effect which is typical of stretch material. Also, since there are just a few seams at the leg and arm openings, the edges of the fabric do not have to be hemmed, adds Hippich.
