Girl Poses for Swimwear with fishing nets

New for Spring ’17, Volcom is proud to announce the introduction of their first-ever ocean friendly women’s swimwear composed of 78% ECONYL® regenerated yarn with this season’s Simply Solid Swim collection. In partnership with Aquafil, a leading yarn producer, the apparel manufacturer Volcom has announced the Simply Solid Spring 2017 women’s collection.

ECONYL® yarn is produced by recycling fishing nets and other discarded nylons. The recovered nets are “up cycled” to protect marine life below the surface and avoid the dangers that sometimes haunt our oceans. There is no loss of quality in the regeneration process and the end result is a yarn that is 100% recyclable.

With the introduction of ECONYL® into the Simply Solid Swim collection, Volcom is continuing its effort to create products with deeper meaning and purpose and support our sustainability initiatives and commitment to Strong Oceans, Stable Climate and Smart Society. Volcom Women’s Simply Solid Swim collection begins in the sea and culminates at the best beaches around the globe.

This initiative and the eco friendly swim collection is part of Volcom’s New Future campaign, which  aims to turn sustainability commitments into action. In 2005, Volcom Verde was released as the brand’s first eco-focused set of products. Since then Volcom’s goals align with its parent company, Kering. The Kering Group’s leadership in sustainability has been  gaining recognition for an ambitious set of initiatives across luxury, sport and lifestyle brands.
