 Rajpal Singh is the key person at  helm, behind the development of the Brand- He did his schooling in India, graduated from Univ. of Alabama, Birmingham with MBA degree, Major in International Finance. He worked for Merrill Lynch, an 800 Billion dollar Investment Banking MNC as an Investment Banker in New York for 4 years, then for 7 years he joined the family metal manufacturing business and thereafter as a Chief Operating Officer for 8 years for a Halloween Products Manufacturer in California. He has a passion for the style, fashion & innovation. Scarlet Kiss line was developed in fall of 2016.

Saum Accessories Inc., Owned by Rajpal Singh who has been in Halloween Industry since 2001. They are designers, wholesalers and manufactures and have been involved in costume designing for almost 10 years now, over the years they have been selling Halloween and Everyday items to all major big box retailers in USA like:  Wal-Mart 4700 stores, Rite Aid 7000 Stores, Walgreens 8000 Stores, Target 1200 Stores, Party City & Halloween City 1500 Stores, Spencer Gifts & Spirit Halloween 1200 Stores, K mart 800 Stores, Hot Topic 1000 Stores, Menards 400 Stores just to name a few….

Scarlet Kiss Inc., is their new contemporary collection. They will be showcasing their collections at the Las Vegas, LA, NY, Milan, Paris and all other relevant International Fashion Shows in the Years to come. The current collection includes: Babydolls, Bra & Panty Sets, Chemise, Club Dresses, Garter Sets, Loungewear, Panties, Robes, Signature Shapewear, Teddy and Fashion Hosiery. They have assembled a team consisting of the best Creative Fashion designers, Wardrobe Consultant, Trend Forecasters, Hair Stylists, Photographers and Fashion Icons who are Red Carpet regulars… to put our first collection.

We contacted Rajpal Singh, President of Saum Accessories Inc and COO of Scarlet Kiss Inc to discover the story and ethos behind Scarlet Kiss.

 

  1. Your designs seem to be sporting a more luxurious feel to them. What does luxury mean to you when it comes to lingerie?

Rajpal Singh: Lingerie can elevate a woman to the world of luxury as you sleep after a tiring day. Luxury Lingerie gives or rather boost confidence and self-esteem to the person wearing it. It is a delicate personal affair for a lady, but that doesn’t mean that privacy cannot be shaken and stirred with luxury. We wear good clothes to give out a certain perception about our personality. Be it casual, formal, sporty or anything else, it builds our persona. Same applies to Luxury lingerie and sleeping attire as well. If you are wearing a gorgeous gown with absolutely flawless makeup and hair but your bust is sagging, the entire look will go for a toss!! It’s extremely important to wear right bra under an attire to achieve the perfect look. Luxury Lingerie is all about woman’s empowerment, enhancement of stature, making yourself feel more feminine while drawing attention to different parts of your body amongst pleasing your partner.

 

  1. I think it’s important for consumers and retailers to know about the quality of materials and craftsmanship that goes into your collections. Could you tell us about your design and manufacturing process?

R.S: We engage forecasters to predict the colors, fabrics, textures, materials, prints, graphics, beauty/grooming, accessories, street style, and other styles that will reflecting  a collection for the upcoming seasons. Each design starts with a Story Board; there are three phases to any collection:

 

Phase I

  • Inspiration Boards to shape the entrepreneur’s creative vision.
  • Analysis and discussion of potential fabrics, styles, and trims.
  • Flat sketches that represent the pieces for use by pattern makers.
  • Research and advice on fabrics; costs, trendiness, utility, match with styles & hardware.

 

Phase II

  • Design, advice, and management of production of custom hardware and trims.
  • Develop tags and labels that work with your logo; manage custom production of these.
  • Technical sketches of apparel, tags, hardware, labels with measurements, angles.
  • Technical packets for each style in the collection.

 

Phase III

  • Select qualified pattern maker and prototype maker for the styles
  • Closely manage the creation of the patterns; in person reviews, phone calls, questions.
  • Closely manage making of ONE prototype for each style; usually 2-3 attempts to get correct.
  • Manage two fit sessions to assess prototypes’ fit on real models, one time corrections, and final fit.
  • Provision of prototype pieces along with all documentation necessary for manufacture of sales samples.

 

We work with several factories in USA, Taiwan & China to undertake our  production requirements.

  1. What is the size range that Scarlet Kiss range can cover?

R.S: Lingerie are women’s undergarments, they can be fashionable and alluring. They can be fun if the right style and fit has been determined. For Bra’s we cover 32A to 38F.   1. Has there already been a customer/fan favorite? Do you have any personal favorites?

R.S: Rock the party season as only a Scarlet Kiss girl can. The lingerie brand recently teamed up with sensational fashion stylists, who rocked the busy streets of Los Angeles, in their favorite pieces from the Scarlet Kiss2016 collection.

From luxury robes to indulgent amazing bra-panty sets and party dresses, are the must-have pieces from the 2016 new collection for this season.

We combining fashion and function, these pieces transcend innerwear and outerwear, pleasing any woman with a taste for the theatrical.

 

  1. For the SS17 collection, what’s behind the inspiration? What should consumers expect? When will the new collection be available?

R.S: The basic colors are Pastel, Flirty & Naughty is the theme, Lots of fringe and Trims with eyelash lace, floral lace self-designs, the inspiration is Rock and Roll.

 

Scarlet Kiss Luxury Lingerie is sexy and affordable, we believe Indian consumer is so ready for appealing styles and it’s about time women update their wardrobes, the female customer perceives Luxury Lingerie as an essential every daywear and not an ornament worn during special occasions.  In my opinion the Luxury Lingerie market is a huge untapped market segment.
