When was boldiva.in launched? How did you come up with the idea for selling intimate wear online?

We have started boldiva.in from Feb 2018 but in the year of 2019, we launched our store at amazon.in. Boldiva’s introduction goes thus…bold+diva = Boldiva for every women not only for bold ladies. Boldiva is one of the best online shopping website lingerie collections, bras, panties, nightwear, activewear, and honeymoon wear for the most sweltering design unmentionables.

What inspiration was taken in designing the website? How would you describe your website in terms of its aesthetics and ease of navigation?

We just wanted a simple and user-friendly website and our main aim is to provide quality lingerie products at best affordable prices in India. Hence, our website is designed for customers’ convenience where they are able to easily navigate through it and place an order. All the products have been categorised in a way that are easy to find and approach.

Also, as per our experience and keywords knowledge many people search on Google and other search engines for baby doll dresses. We’ve categoried these baby doll dresses separately from the lingerie collection.

What is the demography of your buyers?

Our regular customer strength is around 2000 and we are getting unique and new customers every month. These come to around 500-700.

How does your typical buyer land up on your site?

It’s mostly through the Google/Bing/Yahoo and other search engines and Amazon shop listings. We have listed our products with amazon.in, hence many returning customers come at boldiva.in when they feel satisfied with purchased products from Amazon. We have special promotional offer of 10 per cent discount for those customers who wish to directly purchase from our online store and obviously when it comes to satisfaction, we get customers from referrals of satisfied customers.

Any other features that you are looking at adding?

Yes, we are going to launch AN android and IOS application for our web store.

How is the mobile affecting e-commerce as an industry? Do you have an app? Do you plan on launching one?

Our website is already mobile/tab friendly but as mentioned earlier, we are launching an android and ios app very soon.

How has the response been since the website’s inception? What challenges do you face while marketing products online?

At the beginning we did face issues related to promotions and marketing stratagy since there were so many websites already existing that sold the same products. However, we got a good response through Google SEO and social media. Now when we are almost two years old in the market we have very good clientele of satisfied customers.

How do you address fit issues when it comes to online shopping?

We offer unconditional return/refund against size/colour/dislike issues. We accept returns of undergarment products in case of defective/damaged products with our Dead on Arrival (DoA) claim programme. Also, we accept returns in case of wrong colour/product been delivered.

However, it is really difficult to accept underwear and undergarment used once even for trial, because of hygiene related concerns, so no exchange or return untill and unless it’s a wrong product delivered from our end. About panties though, most of them come in a universal size so there are less chances of size issues in the product.

How many orders do you ship in a day?

We get about 50 plus orders as of now.

Which marketplaces or online platforms do you sell on? Which do you prefer best and why?

We sell on Amazon and we like it because we feel that online shopping is really incomplete without Amazon.

Is there any future project that you would like to share with our readers?

As of now we are importing all the products from China/Korea/Hong Kong but we do to sell our own designed products at more effective prices in the Indian market and export plan for other countries as well. We have plans to make our own brand and launch it very soon. We also plan to start dealing in men’s products as well…we wish to import and stock multinational brands’ collection of men’s undergarments for comfort and apparels. We are working on the project and wish to fulfil the same soon.
