Devendra Chawla resigns as Walmart India’s COO

After a 15-month stint at Walmart India, its COO, Devendra Chawla puts in his papers. Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Administrative Officer, Sameer Aggarwal would mostly be taking over from Chawla.

 

Walmart India refused to comment on Chawla’s exit and Chawla himself was unavailable for any comment as well. A Harvard Business School alumnus, Chawla served as Executive Vice President and COO at Walmart India. He was responsible for merchandising, marketing, procurement and omni-channel at the company. Besides, Chawla wasalso a Director on the Board.

Chawla joined Walmart India in April and prior to this, he was the CEO of Future Consumer and Future Group President for food, FMCG and brands and was earlier a Director of Coca Cola India. At Walmart, Chawla presently leads technology, legal, audit, finance, and strategy functions.
